It is with great confidence that I write this reference for Almayne and Natasha, whom I have

had the privilege of knowing for many years. Almayne is a professional hunter of the highest

I have taken my family to their farm on multiple occasions, and I can say without hesitation

that I have never had a moment of concern under Almayne’s guidance. His calm demeanor,

clear judgement, and deep understanding of the bush have always made us feel completely

safe. In fact, I trust him so much that I’ve willingly put my family’s lives in his hands—and

would do so again without hesitation.

One experience I will never forget occurred during a drive through the farm, when we

unexpectedly encountered a herd of wild Thuli elephants that had crossed over the border.

It was a potentially dangerous moment, but Almayne remained composed and completely in

control. He turned to me and asked if my daughter would like to approach the elephants and

I agreed. Thanks to his extraordinary ability to read animal body language, he guided her to

within 10 meters of those wild elephants, safely and respectfully. It was an awe-inspiring

experience that none of us will ever forget.

Every visit has been a positive experience. And it’s not just about the hunting—it's about the

people. Over the years, what began as a professional relationship has evolved into a

friendship with both Almayne and Natasha. I wholeheartedly recommend Almayne, Natasha,

and their farm to anyone looking for an unforgettable, safe, and expertly guided hunting

In 2024 my wife and I decided to finally knock Africa off our bucket list and we could not have asked for a better PH than Almayne Hughes to show us how it's done. With this being our first trip, we were unsure of what to expect. Almayne exceeded every possible expectation at every turn, providing not only fantastic shooting opportunities but expert tracking and gun ballistics knowledge as well. He somehow managed to keep things light and fun even when the situation got tense. A great example is when my red dot on my rifle failed while facing down the Black Death, and he nonchalantly handed me his personal gun and whispered, "Not to worry, it's dead on." His knowledge of African game behavior and movements, as well as trophy quality of said game, are unparalleled. We went in with the realistic expectation that we may not come home with everything we wanted. However, with Almayne taking the lead, we were able to harvest all of the trophies we came for, plus some. His deep respect for the game and dedication to conservation was apparent at every turn. As a big game outfitter myself, I know that it's not just the harvest of the game, but the company, knowledge, and camaraderie between those who share this passion that is hunting, that makes a successful hunt. I got talked into going on an African hunting safari with my husband as an anniversary trip in 2024. He is a much more experienced hunter than I am, as I have only been hunting for a few years and have only harvested a handful of animals. I did not know what to expect at all and was extremely nervous. From the moment my husband and I met Almayne I knew it was going to be a fantastic experience no matter what. Almayne has an innate ability to put even the most inexperienced hunters like me at ease and instill confidence where it is lacking. He seemed to know when to be hard on me and when to crack a joke to get me out of my head. Almayne truly wants his clients to love Africa and the big game hunting experience as much as he does. I valued his ability to infuse humor while being serious about the safety of me and my husband. As a woman, hunting in any country, Africa included, can feel intimidating and nerve wracking. There were a few times my husband and I had to separate during our hunts, but with Almayne guiding me, I never doubted his ability to keep me safe. I not only appreciated his ability to help me successfully harvest the game I was after, but also the fact that he took the time to impart his knowledge of African game, history, and culture to me in between the stalks.
